Riviera Bakery · Wholesale and retail bakery

A bakery whose real customer is a buyer, not a walk-in.

Three bread loafs baked by Riviera Bakery

The brief

A bakery at this scale sells more through other people’s shelves than through its own counter. The site has to work for a café owner opening a wholesale account as well as for someone looking for a stockist near them.

What we built

Products are organised the way the counter is: loaves, rolls, pizza dough, Paolo’s sourdough, Swiss natural rye and gluten free, cookies and muffins, and pastries and sweet breads. Individual lines (the focaccia long loaf, the gluten free artisan loaf, the hi-top chia, linseed and pumpkin, the sunflower and quinoa) each get their own entry with weights and descriptions.

A wholesale account path runs alongside retail, with a credit application, terms of trade and a login for existing accounts. A stockist list covers people looking for the product outside the shop, and new products get their own section so buyers see what has changed.

The engineering

Wholesale and retail are separate paths rather than a single catalogue with a trade discount bolted on, so a café owner is never sent through a consumer flow to place an order. Products, stockists and the new products section are all client-editable. The credit application is a real validated form rather than a downloadable PDF.
