The brief
Land is the hardest thing in property to photograph, because at the point of sale there is nothing built on it. What Edenridge has instead is position: 150 metres above sea level, between the Onkaparinga River National Park and the ocean. A buyer choosing between estates is choosing between locations, so the site had to make the location legible before it asked anyone for anything.
What we built
The setting carries the argument. Aerial video and photography run full-bleed, and the copy is about the gorge, the 600-million-year-old landscape and the walking connections into the national park, rather than about lot sizes.
Masterplan, location and lifestyle each get a page, because the three questions a land buyer asks are what is being built, what is nearby, and what it will be like to live there. A display village page covers the builders, and news and resources runs as a blog the client posts to.
Three enquiry routes sit together rather than competing: make an appointment, become a VIP, and visit the site. A land release sells in stages, and the VIP list is how the next stage is sold before it is advertised.
The engineering
Content is client-editable where it changes, which for a staged release is the news posts and the stage information. Video is served with poster images so the hero paints before the file arrives, and the imagery is processed at upload rather than uploaded at full size, because the photography this site depends on is the heaviest thing on it.
